What is a Mini-split?
A mini-split is a heat pump that can heat and cool your home. There is an outdoor unit that is called the condenser and an indoor unit that is called the air handler. In most cases, the air handler is ductless. This means that there is no ductwork in your home for these units to operate. No ductwork means less energy loss in the ducts. Being ductless also gives more options in where the air handler can be mounted.
Why are mini-splits so efficient?
One of the main reasons the mini-split is so efficient is because it has a variable speed compressor through inverter technology. As you need more or less conditioning, the compressor will ramp up or slow down. This also helps the system last many years more than conventional heat pumps. Another huge benefit of this is that the indoor and outdoor units run very quiet.
What is a Pro-Rated Warranty?
Many hot tubs sold at these traveling Expos, and Wholesale places have Pro-Rated Warranties. A Pro-Rated Warranty is not a 100% percent replacement warranty. A Pro-Rated Warranty puts more responsibility on your lap every day that goes by. Meaning, if your pump goes out 5 months after purchasing the tub, you will have to pay a portion of the new pump. If the pump goes out 8 months after purchasing, you will pay even more for a new pump. A Pro-Rated Warranty is not something manufacturers are proud of. So they do not openly tell the consumers about it. All they say is, "Yep, there is warranty"
Are all Hot Tubs Equal?
Not at all. Like most things, you get what you pay for. If you're looking at two different tubs that look close to the same, but there is a $3,000 difference in price, then there are definitely some things that are not equal.
